TRIAD Meeting

TRIAD meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month and is held at a different location each time. TRIAD is a 3-way commitment among the Chiefs of Police, Sheriff, and people 60+. with the major purpose to develop, expand and implement effective crime prevention and educational programs for 60+. Activities center on both victimization (preventive) and post-victimization (victim/witness assistance). Stop in for some fresh fruit or veggies for a healthy jump start for your week and your month! There will now also be some sort of health-topic video shown continuously in the mornings on these Mondays.

Armchair Travel/Sarrett Walk
Fri. Feb 24th, 9:30 a.m. Activity Rm

This month we will have a presentation by Sarrett Nature Center about Michigan's winter birds and animals, including ones that might be seen here outside the Center. Afterwards, weather permitting, we will go outside and look for evidence of furred and feathered friends! Sarrett will bring some snowshoes which you can rent, for $1.00, to try out in our "Back 40." Be Sure To Bring Appropriate Outerwear and Boots! Light refreshments will be served. Please sign up to attend.

Join us to watch the Golden Globe and Academy Award nominated film, Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt. This is a funny and inspiring film for anyone who has ever dreamed of taking on the system. Popcorn always provided! Please sign up to attend.

First Friday Feast

The Center staff will prepare lunch the first Friday of each month instead of Senior Nutrition. The cost will be $2.50 per person and we will note the menu selection on the calendar in the newsletter and here on the website each month. This month, Feb. 3rd, will be Liver & onions, mashed potatoes & gravy, peas & cookies. Sign up is still 2 days in advance. Come join us for some fun, fellowship & feasting!

Valentine's Day Program & Potluck
Tues., Feb. 14th, 10:30 a.m.

We are going to have a fantastic program on Valentine's Day and we hope you can join us. Mike Kline, of the Berrien County Sherriff's Department, will be presenting on The St. Valentine's Day Massacre. He has authentic weapons to show and interesting stories to share, including information about the Berrien County link to Chicagoland gangsters of the day. We will begin with the program at 10:30 a.m., and have a potluck lunch beginning at 11:45. So bring a dish to pass and dress in your best Valentine's Day, OR Mobster style! Please sign up to attend.
